The Holt Community Arts Council's 'Harvest'
is a bumper crop of family fun!

In its third year, the Holt Community Arts Council’s “Harvest of the Arts” offers something for just about everyone.

The free all-day event is planned for Saturday, September 11, in two venues.  It returns to the Holt Farmers Market, and it will also occupy Veterans Memorial Gardens behind the Delhi Township Hall.

The expansion reflects the number of artisans and vendors that have joined the event.  It also reflects how the event has been spiced up, so to speak.  This year, the Arts Council will sponsor its first-ever culinary arts competition – specifically, the “Holt and Spicy” salsa-making competition.

While children visit the instrument “petting zoo” and try their hands at felting soap, their parents can try ballroom dancing or cake decorating.  Other activities include painting pottery, fusing glass, and weaving.  And many of the participating artists will have their wares for sale.

For a nominal fee, folks attending the Harvest can taste the salsa entries for themselves.

The events run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

Art is not made for anybody and is, at the same time, for everybody. - Piet Mondrian                                                                 To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts.  - Henry David Thoreau                                                                 Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.  - George Bernard Shaw                                                                 The object of art is to give life a shape.  - William Shakespeare
